We were able to finish the beds, electrical, plumbing and even landscape a little at Ana’s house. Ray is starting to figure how to plant and get things to grow in the DR!
One morning the woman stayed back at the hotel to have brunch with the female staff. we were able to chat with them, tell them our stories and hear there’s. They love the partnership with Pathway Dominicana. Dio has worked hard to establish a relationship with the hotel and it shows. Many of the staff work in the villages we go to. Hotel workers typically work 10 hour days 6 days a week. Making $150-200 a month. Gas is more expensive than the US and groceries are about the same as here.
On our last full day we took a catamaran to Catalina island and got to hang on the beach and see the beautiful parts of the DR that the locals are so proud of.
We’re so honored to be part of this organization and feel privileged to get to go each year.
