That would be me, there was a tiny mention at church in the summer of 2021. A kind of ‘Hey we’re headed to the Dominican Republic in January. Reach out if you are interested.’

That’s all it took for me. Ray, not so much. I asked him to just think and pray about it. And to not give an answer for a few weeks. He still wasn’t sure. I took that as a yes.

So we spent the next few months learning about Pathway Dominicana (the organization we’d be partnering with), renewing passports, meeting with our local team, and fundraising.

Here’s our team! It was still pretty post- pandemic so we met some on zoom and some in person. Kelly (bottom left) and Gus (middle left) and I had traveled with a group to Guatemala a few years ago.
